Lt. Governor Pat Quinn to present HOMES with Environmental Hero Award Quinn flying into Freeport Airport on Friday, October 24th to present award
Lt. Governor Quinn will be flying into Albertus Airport/Freeport Flight Center at 1255 E Airport Rd, Freeport at 4pm this Friday, October 24th to meet with representatives of HOMES
Quinn will present an Environmental Hero Award to "Helping Others Maintain Environmental Standards" (HOMES) for their grassroots effort to stop the construction of a proposed 6,850 animal unit mega-dairy which would threaten clean air and water in the surrounding area.
"Everyday people banding together for clean air and water cannot be defeated," Quinn said. "I am proud to honor HOMES with an Environmental Hero Award for their dedication to protecting and preserving a healthful environment and the public health of our citizens."
To get to the airport:
Take US 20 Bypass around Freeport to the IL State Highway 26 South exit. Follow 26 South to the south end of Freeport past the new Wal-Mart/Menards stores.
Turn Left on Lamm Rd. Follow Lamm Road for about 1 mile until you "T" into Baileyville Rd. There will be clearly marked signs at that intersection to guide you to the airport entrance.
